Jennifer

Jennifer lived in Southern California until she was 8 years old, then her family moved to the beautiful Skagit Valley in western Washington. After high school, she started her career as a dental assistant. Her employer provided massage therapy to the assistants because the repetitive, out- of- balance body posture required to do dental assisting can lead to chronic pain.

When Jennifer was pregnant with her son, she received massage therapy from her Doula or birth coach. That is when the light bulb lit up. Jennifer said to herself, “She has the coolest job ever”. Over the next 14 years Jennifer prepared herself for a new career.

After graduating from massage therapy school, Jennifer invested in advanced training in pregnancy and post-partum massage therapy. She likes to point out that her treatment techniques help ALL bodies not just pregnant ones; specifically, the sacroiliac joint release technique which can provide relief for low back pain, hip pain, leg pains and knee problems. Another very exciting procedure Jennifer has to offer is scar therapy technique. This is particularly useful for releasing the hold an old scar may have on a muscle or group of muscles. Many times people have scar tissue which is perpetuating the problem and they do not even know it. Jennifer has seen amazing results using this technique on the neck, shoulders, lower limbs and abdomen.

When asked to connect chiropractic and massage therapy, Jennifer said, “Chiropractors are the gatekeepers of the spinal chord and keeping the spine in alignment. Massage therapy works with the soft tissue to keep the muscles from pulling the spine out of alignment.

Jennifer confesses that she is a total book nerd; she especially likes to read self-help books. She said she would be interested in hiking, but she is too busy reading!
She is very active with her Doula group and community service. Jennifer takes care of herself by meditating daily, watching her diet and occasional day hikes.
